GiveMN, organizers of the annual “Give to the Max Day” fundraiser every November, recently conducted a survey of Minnesota nonprofits. It uncovered something telling. Seventy percent self-report that their fundraising strategies needed an overhaul. Not coincidentally, nearly the same percentage report that their fundraising is conducted entirely by volunteers.
Seeing a problem in desperate need of a solution, GiveMN created the RaiseMN Campaign Institute. RaiseMN could be described as a fundraising bootcamp in which small- and medium-sized nonprofits receive seven months of personal coaching and peer learning opportunities.
Since the Campaign Institute’s inception, RaiseMN has nurtured and fine-tuned the fundraising efforts of more than 100 nonprofits: food and diaper banks, ballet and art schools, conservatories and conservancies, myriad cultural groups, and many more. All have come out of this seven-month commitment better for the experience. At the conclusion of course work, institute “graduates” also receive a $2,500 grant in celebration of their achievement.
If you want to up your fundraising game, apply your Friends group for the 2023 RaiseMN Campaign Institute (here). Don’t delay: Applications for this cycle are due by end of day tomorrow, March 29. If that’s too tight, no need to fret. We’ll keep you posted when the next “class” becomes available!
