On Tuesday, September 30, the Friends of the Princeton Library piloted "Friends Meet Friends," a regional networking initiative. Organizers brought together a room full of Friends volunteers from across the Great River Regional Library and East Central Regional Library systems (which between them encompass 12 counties).

Betty Barrett and Ellyn Thibodeau, co-presidents of the hosting Friends group, led a discussion around a topic important for us all: how to forge and maintain connections in our communities.

MALF (represented by board members Janet Eaton, Loretta Ellsworth, and Robin Gillette) join those assembled, as did State Librarian Tami Lee.

“Groups shared their project ideas and spoke about areas they struggled with,” reported Ellsworth. “I loved their energy and commitment, and how everyone from these different towns worked together around shared issues.”

Congratulations to the Friends of the Princeton Library for pulling off such a fantastic inaugural event – and by coincidence, for also winning the gift card prize drawing sponsored by MALF!
