For our final webinar of 2025, MALF is excited to announce the return of a fan favorite event. MALF’s programming team first piloted Warm Reads For Cold Nights back in 2022. It’s returned each year since to coincide with the holiday shopping season.

For those less familiar, this jam-packed webinar consists of two parts. First, sales representatives from two Minnesota-based publishers will join us to share highlights from their impressive fall and winter release schedules. We share this spotlight with different publishers each winter. This go-around, Graywolf Press and Minnesota Historical Society Press will take center stage.

Graywolf Press is widely regarded as one of the premier nonprofit literary presses in America. It publishes 30-35 books each year: poetry, fiction, literary nonfiction, and hybrid works that “redefine the boundaries of literature and help shape the 21st century canon.” Graywolf’s author roster from its first 50 years includes incredible luminaries, such as National Book Award, Pulitzer Prize, Noble Prize for Literature, and Booker Prize honorees.

Minnesota Historical Society Press is one of the oldest publishers in the Upper Midwest and the largest historical society press in the country. It specializes in adult nonfiction and children’s picture books that reflect the history and culture of Minnesota. Focal areas include Native American history and culture, political and military history, natural history and the environment, cultural and social histories, sports, and memoir.

That’s not all. Warm Reads also includes a Part 2, of sorts, where MALF invites a variety of Minnesota authors to pop in and offer their own winter reading and gift-giving recommendations – and to share a few words about their own newest release, as well. We always have at least a dozen writers take part in this way. Who will make an appearance this time around? You’ll have to join in to find out!

Warm Reads For Cold Nights is free to all, but you must pre-register [HERE] for this Wednesday, November 12 (12:00-1:30 p.m.) event.
