Last year, Friends of the Library elsewhere in the country coordinated programs running a wide gamut: from readathons and spelling bees, to cooking demos and fashion shows, and even charity 5ks and relay races!
We know for a fact that Friends here in Minnesota have not been idle, either. Our annual Evy Nordley Award for Best Project is the perfect way to learn about and share your group highlights from 2023.
Who can apply? Entrants must be based in Minnesota and attached to a public, K-12 school, college/university, or special library. (There is no cost to enter this competition, but current membership in the MALF is a prerequisite for consideration.)
What can you submit? Any Friends-supported project is eligible, provided that (1) project implementation began after January 1, 2023; and (2) either the Friends or their library was the primary beneficiary.
Common project types are successful fundraisers, membership drives, and advocacy campaigns – but the sky is the limit. Top prize is $1,000, with additional financial prizes awarded for second and third place. Visit our website for more details on eligibility and how to apply. Deadline is Friday, July5.
