Did you know that United for Libraries hosts an annual celebration of library supporters? It’s called National Friends of Libraries Week – and conveniently for those of us in Minnesota, it falls every October. It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate and fundraise before November ushers in the year’s busiest, most crowded time for fundraising.
What is National Friends of Libraries Week, exactly? In short, it is what you make of it! United for Libraries provides Friends with a library - pun intended - of actionable ideas and material templates. Ultimately, though, it falls to organizers in every participating community to determine just how they mark the occasion.
That will be the focus of MALF’s next webinar, “Making the Most of ‘National Friends of Libraries Week’.” Join us over the lunch hour on Thursday, May 11 for a discussion led by UFL marketing and membership manager Jillian Wentworth. Register here, no later than Monday, May 8. Please direct all questions to the MALF office at info@mnlibraryfriends.org.
