Many libraries, particularly those serving small and rural communities, double as their town’s premier venue for community education, civic discourse, and even art exhibitions. Leaning into this fact, the American Library Association recently announced a new and unique partnership with The Pulitzer Prizes.

Pulitzer on the Road is a national traveling exhibition featuring a themed assortment of Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalism, books, drama, and music. Visitors will experience this internationally renowned work through “panel displays, digital interactives, and hands-on activities.” (Note: You can read more about themes and media on the program’s website, but specific showcase items are still being curated and not yet available for review.)

Each host site will have the inaugural exhibit for a six-week period between January 2027 and June 2028.

Eligibility: Membership in ALA or its subunits is not a prerequisite for eligibility. However, applicants must be able to accommodate a 1,400-square-foot exhibit and agree to host at least four public programs in tandem with the traveling exhibit. (Host sites will receive a $3,000 programming allowance to support those events.) Click here for more!
