Empowering Effective Board Decision-Making Webinar

Friends groups are ordinarily governed by “working boards” – groups who not only set strategy, but also see personally that the group’s plans are carried out. This is often easier in principle than in practice. In this webinar, nonprofit expert Elizabeth Appel will share replicable, time-tested strategies for impactful decision-making processes. Specific focus areas will include fostering collaboration between board members in order to harness the collected skills and collective wisdom of your board.

Friends Rochesterfest Book Sale

Shop for used books at great prices! Fiction and nonfiction for all ages. We will have an abundance of good quality kids books, cookbooks, history, and sheet music at this sale. We will also have music CDs, and DVDs. Hours will be Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27 from 10AM - 5:30PM and Sunday, June 28 from 12PM - 4PM. All proceeds benefit the Rochester Public Library. Evy Nordley Award Applications Due

MALF wants to hear what you’ve been up to, and our annual Evy Nordley Award is the perfect mechanism for you to share!

Any Friends-supported project is eligible for consideration, provided that (1) project implementation began after January 1, 2025; and (2) either the Friends or their Minnesota library was the primary beneficiary. Top prize is $1,000.

You have until Friday, July 10 to apply, and the application form will be available at mnlibraryfriends.org through that date.
