 CONNECT WITH LIBRARY FRIENDS AND TRUSTEES ON OCTOBER 4 IN SAINT PAUL!

Fun and networking — Take advantage of great social and networking opportunities through refreshment breaks and sessions designed for library Friends and trustees.

Meals and refreshments — Registration fee includes breakfast, lunch, dessert buffet and refreshment breaks. You must pre-register to guarantee your meals on October 4, 2012.

Easy registration — Complete details about sessions, speakers, and registration are at www.mnlibraryassociation.org/mlaconference2012. Register online or download a hardcopy form. If you do not have Internet access and need registration information, contact the Minnesota Library Association office at 651-999-5343. Membership not required. Just be a citizen who supports libraries!  COST: Library Friends & Trustees register for one-day (Thursday, October 4) at $60.00 before August 31After August 31, the one-day rate is $75. Subunit Session (8:00-8:50)

Minnesota Association of Library Friends, brief annual meeting.

Minnesota Library Trustees Association, a separate brief annual meeting.

Idea-Popcorn! Idea exchange among Library Friends and Trustees

 

Session C3 (9:00-10:00) 10 Minutes to Win It! Award for Best Project by Friends of Libraries

FINALISTS present their project in ten minutes!

• The Friends of the Houston Public Library: A New Chapter for the Houston Public Library

• The Friends of the Nokomis Library: Super Kinder — Listos Para el Kinder

• The Friends of the Ramsey County Libraries: Help Someone Become the Next Andrew Carnegie

MALF presents $1,000 or $250, with a plaque or a certificate, to these three finalist organizations.

 

Refreshment Break, visit Silent Auction and Exhibits (10:00-11:00)

 

Session D9 (11:00-12:00) Pros and Cons of 501c3, presented for library staff, trustees and Friends of Libraries by Phil Duran, MAP for Nonprofits — Management Assistance Project.
